Any Shape

Any Angle

URC Automation makes 6 - 9 axis robot router machining systems that do secondary operations such as cutting, deflashing, deburring, countersinking and drilling on plastic and composite parts.

We have the following robot router machining systems:

A 6 axis Mobile Router Machining System that allows you to move the system wherever desired to improve work-flow.

6 axis Mobile Router Machining System with extended reach!

A 6 axis two station slide-shuttle machining  system for large parts.

A 6 axis three station machining system.

A 7 axis robot router machining system with travel up to 30 feet.

Blow mold and injection mold processors purchase URC equipment for these trimming operations.

End-users of the molded parts include Polaris, Arctic Cat, Satellite, Skyline, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Coleman and Peterbilt.

Our 6 - 9 axis robot router systems allow our customers to cut and drill virtually any shape at any angle!

URC has been building Robot Router Systems since 1996.

Six Axis Robot Router Machining Systems are able to cut more complex shapes than 3-5 axis machines, usually with a faster cycle time.

Quick-change cutting tools are utilized in all of our robot router machining system cells.  This allows for a very flexible approach in the cutting process.  Right angle drills and mills, step drills, countersinks, deflashing and deburring tools, cut-off wheels and a variety of cutting bits can be utilized to cut almost any part at any angle!

Intermediate non-cutting robot motion approaches speeds of 80 inches / second, resulting in reduced cycle times.

Cutting feed-rates can be easily adjusted.  Controlled cutter feed-rate gives a more consistent part finish and a longer tool life as the operator is not handling the tool.

When multiple cutting operations are done manually, the operator can miss features.  When your customer gets the part for assembly and it doesn't fit, it is a reject that costs you money!  A URC Robot Machining System will not miss any features.

Hard automation fixtures can cost $10K - $20K or more, depending on the operations being performed.  With a large part family, this translates into high fixture costs along with the associated storage problems.  Sometimes fixtures can't even be designed to get at the necessary features.  Or if the part becomes obsolete, so does the fixture.

Using URC's 6 Axis Robot Router Machining Systems, the fixturing is reduced to work-holding.  The robot is able to run many different part programs utilizing the same tools.  Additionally, the robot may be able to reach into the part for material removal.

URC Automation provides a variety of 6 Axis Robot Router cutting solutions including a mobile platform machining system, two station slide-indexer system and a fixed three station machining system.  Shape Generation software is an option for easy programming of circles, slots, rectangles and other shapes.

Custom machining system designs and retro-fits with your existing robot (if robot meets specifications).  URC Automation retains ownership of these designs and the Customer cannot use them without written permission or compensation to URC Automation.

Compliant deburring tools, electric router with pneumatic drills on same system, and Offline Programming are available as options!
