Any Shape

Any Angle

URC Automation makes slide station 6 axis robot router systems that do secondary operations such as routing and drilling on non-metallic parts.

Two linear slide shuttles for operator load and unload.

Robot cell is 12' x 12' with the operator loading area 6' x 12'.  This is a total footprint of 12' x 18'.  Custom sizes can be designed.

A service door is in the back of the cell and provides maintenance and part programming access.

A safety switch on the door prevents motion of the robot if the door is left open.

The teach pendant overrides the safety switch for part teaching.

Unlimited number of part programs.

Three point parallel and rotational shift for adjusting positions.

Shape Generation software option for circles, slots and other geometric shapes.

HandlingPro off-line programming option with Cell calibration software to transfer off-line programs to the router.  Uses IGES files.

Quick-change tool changer with one router and one drill.  Four additional tools can be added.

Built in diagnostics.

High up-time system designed for 24/7 operation.

URC can design and build fixtures for your parts.

URC 6 Axis Router with two slide stations

The URC Six Axis Dual Station Robot Router system is designed for the secondary operations of routing and drilling plastic parts.

The system features two linear shuttle tables to index parts into and out of the cell.   Operator handling time can be transparent to the process.

One of the advantages of this system compared to the mobile and three station system is that the robot can reach underneath the part.  The linear shuttles are cantilevered 20 inches allowing the robot to get underneath and remove material from the part.

When utilizing both stations at the same time, the operator handling time can be eliminated from the cycle time of the part.  Each station can run different programs from the other station.  A third fixed station with light curtains can be added to run with one of the slide stations.  This option is used when a press is next to the side of the cell and parts need to be directly transferred into the cell.

Quick change cutting tools are utilized in all of our Robot Router cells.  This allows a very flexible approach for the cutting process.  Right angle drills and routers, step drills and a variety of router bits can be utilized to cut almost any plastic part at any angle.

Intermediate non-cutting robot motion approaches speeds of 80 in/sec resulting in reduced cycle times.  This system cranks out the parts fast!

Cutting feed-rates can be easily adjusted.  Controlled router feed-rate gives a more consistent part finish and a longer tool life as the operator is not handling the tools. Consumable costs of router and drill bits decrease dramatically when the using the robot to router.

A safety mat with zone monitoring allows safe loading of parts into the fixture. If the slide indexer is moving and the safety mat is activated, the slide "E-Stops" and "floats". The robot continues to cut on the other slide if the slide is in the cell.

After loading, the operator clamps the part with the anti-tie downs and presses the appropriate table index button. The table shuttles into the cell and is locked into place.

The robot begins the cutting cycle when it is done with the other table. After the cutting cycle is complete, the table shuttles out of the cell and unclamps the part.

Programming is via a hand held teach pendant. Linear, joint and circular motion for complex blended paths. Full logic control over all processes (loop, decision, subroutine, I/O).

Off-line programming is available and should be considered for complex parts.

Complete operator training takes about 1 day. Programming training with the teach pendant takes 2 - 3 days.
